Welcon would like to make a special acknowledgement of the outstanding achievement of our undergraduate engineer, Luke Linwood.

Luke has built a 3D Lightning Protection Simulator that enables the on-screen simulation of lighting protection parabolas to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system. It is an easy to use testing program that can validate engineering data and physically show the protected and unprotected areas of any site.

The program has been used in conjunction with our Lightning Studies to prove calculations and to highlight any anomalies using a 3D model. Well done Luke, and we look forward to the next innovation to revolutionise the engineering landscape.
