We are pleased to congratulate our newest Engineer, Luke Linwood on his Graduation. Luke had been working with Welcon through the Co-op Program at Central Queensland University and has now secured a permanent position, following the successful completion of his degree. Whilst employed as a Co-op Student Engineer, he contributed to Welcon by developing a 3D Lightning Protection Simulator that we currently use on project designs.

When asked what he looked forward to when joining Welcon, Luke answered:

“Welcon is an open-minded company with very charismatic and highly intellectual employees. Working for Welcon as a Co-op Student, I was impressed by the calibre of learning that I was exposed to on a daily basis. Each engineer had their own unique stance on a topic, which would occasionally lead to disagreements and debates. However, what surprised me most was that each quarrel was professional with each side leaving richer in experience and understanding, and that includes me.

I believe every day I work with Welcon will bring with it something new to learn – sometimes by doing, other times through discussion. Welcon has much to offer any engineer of any level, which is why I knew becoming a graduate engineer with Welcon was a good choice for me.”

We are pleased to see Luke graduate with First Class Honours in his chosen field and wish him well in his future career.
